Snails Make People Sick Throughout Beijing

By Lennox Bradly

Snails served at some restaurants in Beiging have made people very sick

Beijing restaurants that serve snail dishes are making people sick

Come on now, everybody loves a good snail now and again right? Well people eating at a number of Beijing restaurants are singing a different tune after at least 50 of them developed parasite-caused meningitis from eating the delicacy in restaurants across the capital.

The first confirmed case was discovered in June in a 34 year old man who complained of nausea and severe head aches. Since then, confirmed cases have been pouring in and now it is believed that this is a city problem. The amount of cases is only expected to rise, due to the fact that symptims take up to a month to appear once a person becomes infected with the virus.

Dog Health Issue - Rewarding Your Dog

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

Rewarding your dog is probably the single most important aspect of good training. It is a well-known fact that reward training is the fastest way to get a dog to change their behavior and rewards in the form of positive reinforcement are the fastest way to get the desired results.

Dog Quote: My dog can bark like a Congressman, fetch like an aide, beg like a press secretary, and play dead like a receptionist when the phone rings.
….US Congressman Gerold Solomon

Rewarding your dog is probably the single most important aspect of good training.

It is a well-known fact that reward training is the fastest way to get a dog to change their behavior and rewards in the form of positive reinforcement are the fastest way to get the desired results.

Dog Obedience Training Secrets

Reward training also makes the whole process more fun for the owner and the dog.
It becomes a bit of a game and helps to reduce any boredom and keep both the dog and the owner motivated.

It is also a good idea to finish each training session with a time for play so the dog associates the learning with fun times and is more excited about these sessions in the future.

Many people also like to have a little time before the training sessions for fun too, but that really depends on the personality of your dog as some can get overly excited and this can make the training sessions harder to control.

It is not often that you will find people promoting the use of ‘reprimand’ training these days as this is quite a dated technique and has been proven to be less effective than the newer positive action training techniques.

Discover The Truth About Commercial Dog Food

Dogs will quickly become discouraged by this type of training and they can also get confused when they are unsure what they have been doing wrong.

It is far better to focus on more positive actions that are used to replace those areas of the dog’s behavior that are causing problems.

There are certain circumstances where the dog is aware of doing something wrong and in these instances where they will know why they are being reprimanded it is certainly suitable to do so, but once they have been reprimanded it is time to move on quickly and get back to the positive aspects of training.

Banbury Animal Rescue Service Needs Your Help

By Lennox Bradly

The UK based animal rescue service BARKS needs your help

A UK animal rescue service is running out of volunteers and needs foster families to keep operating at a high level

Banbury Animal Rescue and Kindness Service is an animal charity operating in the UK that offers temporary homes for abandoned animals. While they help a lot of animals get off the street and into loving homes, a shortage of volunteers and foster families is putting the charity under undue strain. “We’re the only charity that takes in unwanted animals around here and finds them a new home. We are getting a lot of requests to take animals in but we have not got enough people coming forward to volunteer to take care of them,” stated Committee member Joyce Turner.
